Our Evolution

Just as the successful culmination of any project depends on reaching key milestones, so too was the case with Systemation. Over half a century in the making, Systemation’s storied history provides great insight as to how we became one of the leading project management, business analysis, and agile development training companies in the world today.
- 1942
A gentleman by the name of Leslie Matthies embarks on pioneering process work with McConnell Aircraft to smooth out inventory, production and quality control procedures.
- 1948
Matthies notices companies struggling with accounting and staffing issues. Matthies identifies a vast demand for training specialists with specific competencies in operations.
- 1958
Matthies begins publishing a Systemation Letter, which garners quite a bit of attention, then Systems and Procedures Association names him “Systems Man of the Year”.
- 1959
Matthies establishes Systemation (the company) in Tulsa, Oklahoma – a firm dedicated to helping organizations improve business results through systems education. Matthies develops various correspondence courses focusing on business analysis and takes them worldwide. Matthies retires in 1974, but his “systems thinking” approach remains embedded in our offerings, our culture – our very DNA.
- 1977
Systemation relocates to Denver, Colorado, and expands its business analysis offering to five courses.
- 1985
Systemation launches a new but complementary project management practice. The field of project management experiences tremendous growth, and by 1993 Systemation has a total of seven PM offerings.
- 2000
Systemation merges with Snyder Integrative Consulting, a provider of high-end project management consulting services.
- 2009
Systemation adds two new core offerings to its learning improvement solutions mix, including an Agile Development Program and a Virtual Learning Format for all of its courses.
Today, Systemation provides a wide range of workshops, programs, and consulting services designed to bring out the best in Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Agile Developers. We’re passionate about sharing the very best “how-to’s” with hungry students, and look forward to leveraging our over fifty years worth of knowledge and experience to help improve your business performance!
