What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
“When I was 18, my family and I were in France with another family. One night my sister, our friend and I wanted to go to a club. Somehow we got permission to go, but we had only consumed a few drinks when suddenly my dad, who was completely intoxicated at the time, came walking through the door (in his pajamas!) demanding that we leave. Our friend’s mother had gotten worried about him, and we had to go. My Sister and I were very embarrassed and to make matters worse, before forcing us to leave, my Dad drank the rest of our drinks!”
Perhaps experiences like this contributed to making Laurel the even-tempered, take-it-all-in-stride person she is today! She can take a difficult situation and find some sort of humor or redeeming quality in the midst of it. Flexible, steady, dependable, competent, and a pursuer of excellence… People make the difference at Systemation—People like Laurel Cagan!
