Mary Beth Tolan is a facilitator that completely “gets” the real, in-the-trenches world that project managers in her workshops face. After achieving unprecedented success in her own career, she now comes alongside others to help them achieve the same.
Participants in her workshops enjoy the benefit of more than 18 years of diversified experience in nearly every aspect of project management. There are no pie-in-the-sky, unreachable, over-the-rainbow theories here. Just very practical, relevant insights and coaching that makes a real difference in the individuals and the companies they represent.
Mary Beth’s communication style is very much a reflection of her—comfortable, engaging, bubbly and bright. Clients learn without even meaning to, just by being around her. And she is quite skilled at quickly taking the pulse of a room and tailoring her presentation to their specific needs. Attendees walk away energized, optimistic and equipped to improve performance at multiple levels.
Outside of the office and classroom, Mary Beth enjoys horseback riding, hiking, antiques and modern dance (specifically Nia). She is a very balanced person and works hard to stay that way. She is a great example of someone who practices excellence and breathes passion into every area of life, whether in business, personal life or anywhere in-between.

What has been your most embarrassing moment in business?
“A hotel fire in the middle of the night forced me to the sidewalk in my flannel pj’s. Next to me stood the president of the company I was employed by in only his blue jeans and loafers. We both agreed … one of our most embarrassing moments!” A survivor, resilient, strong, personable, helpful and smart – that’s our Mary Beth Tolan!
